My Personal Message to You


How This All Started

Have you ever wondered why you struggle with being overweight?  I know I sure have.  We’re told to eat less and exercise more.  But nothing really changes.  We get hungry.  We get cranky.  We quit.

And what's the result of all this effort? A slowed metabolism and rebound weight gain... with a little extra tacked on for good measure.  There has to be a better way!  

And what about your health?  How did so many of us become so unhealthy in the last 50+ years?  In my case, the answer was to medicate the symptoms.  But, what else can we do about it?  Are there new discoveries to be found in old wisdom?  What does the new science say? 

I discovered that sugar consumption was at the very core of my weight and health issues.  I concluded that getting out of sugar and carbs was vital to my wellbeing and my weight loss success.

I decided that following a low carb, ketogenic lifestyle would be my approach.  So, here we are...


Welcome to my No Sugar Coach site. This website is dedicated to helping you understand the “mechanics” of fat loss using a keto or low carb diet.  It is further dedicated to providing you with new insights and creative ways of living a healthy life in a body size that’s right for you. Through therapeutic carbohydrate restriction AKA a low carb diet, I know you can achieve your goals.

My Mission

My mission is straightforward: to provide a space for mature women and men like you who struggle with achieving permanent results.  I know what it’s like because I’ve been there.

On my personal continuing weight loss adventures, I learned that I have a food addiction. Huh! That made my head spin! But that’s not everyone’s discovery. You may discover you only need a small adjustment to your current diet.  Whatever it is, let me help you learn the different keto or low carb approaches you can use to achieve success.

As part of my mission I'll help you find sanity in a sea of overwhelming and misleading information. You’ll find information about the right way to embrace a keto or low carb lifestyle and even learn how to follow a healthy carnivore diet if you want to!

You will learn the difference between sugar/carb addiction, vs emotional eating and binge eating. You’ll learn about the role that different hormones play in your body and what happens when you eat certain foods that cause you so much grief. You’ll learn about brain function and why everyone is not wired quite the same way and what that may mean for you.

Understanding the Pain

Living in an oversized body is a full-time preoccupation that robs us of a fulfilling life. It’s heartbreaking to suffer in silence, trapped in a cycle of binges, broken promises, failure, guilt, shame, self-hatred, and despair.

And I get you because I know the cycle so well. I hear you.  Making substantial changes in your life takes time, courage and hard work. But it’s all so worthwhile when you come through the other side.
